ABOUT US...

The story of this website started last year when I started looking for other French mums in Kent, my county of residence, as my husband Tom and I just had our first child, Joshua . Although everyone says there are lots of French people living in Kent, I really struggled to find other French families. I looked on the internet, placed adds etc, etc but it took me ages to find some and even now, we are not many in our local French families group...

This gave me the idea of creating this website. I know there are already a lot of very good websites where mums can chat and meet up but there isn't really anything easily set up for multilingual families (at least to my knowledge).

Also, I always felt I missed out on something when I was little as my mum, too, expatriated herself from her home country, Switzerland, to live in France with my dad. She did try speaking Swiss-German (Schweizerdeutsch) to my older brother when he was still a baby but without much luck. At that time, there was not a lot of encouragement for teaching a minority language and therefore she didn't try with me...what a shame...

So, I am hoping that this website will help all families to ensure that languages are taught as easily and as playfully as possible.
